Puffs of smoke from erebus
The lavas that restlessly roll
Their sulphurous currents down yaanek
In the ultimate climes of the pole -
Outpost of the great unknown

To fathom secrets aeons old
A burning curiosity
Dares glaciated mystery

The doubts and horrors around us
